Week of October 28th

Thanks to the 20 parents of middle school students who used their time to talk to me about their son or daughter. I appreciate your time, questions, and concerns.

The 6th graders had a very good week of learning the parts of a paragraph and essay, the types of essays, and the structure of a five paragraph essay. Students will apply that knowledge in the writing of an essay this week and gauge their writing with the understanding and use of a rubric.

Homework:
Students will use the Writing Process to complete different parts of the essay on a daily and nightly basis.

The 7th grade class also had an awesome week and will continue that value by journal writing, reviewing their vocabulary,  and studying the previous chapters read of their novel, The Pigman, by Paul Zindel. Also, students will demonstrate their level of comprehension by completing a test covering chapters (1- 5).

Homework:
Review of chapters read and vocabulary words

The 8th grade class will use the Writing Process to edit and revise their science research papers. Also, students will use their Elements of Language textbooks and 8th Grade Grammar workbooks to learn about the different types of adjectives and use them correctly.

Homework:
Assignments covering adjectives from the textbook and workbooks.

Let's have a great week!! Believing is Achieving!!
