Week of March 3rd

Most students had a great week of learning and if they choose to, we will have an even better week of learning and the creation of value.

The 6th grade class had a good week of learning and over this week-end, finished reading their novel, Hatchet, by Gary Paulsen. Students will discuss the conclusion of the novel, the author's purpose, and the themes of it. Also, students will discuss the skills learned from reading it.

The 7th grade class will read their persuasive essays and present their presentations of them by poster or power point. Also, students will answer questions from their peers and will be graded with the assistance of a rubric. Following the presentations, students will discuss the topics presented and state if the arguments presented within them will persuade the masses to action.

The 8th grade class will finish discussing the themes of their novel, Bad Boy: A Memoir, by Walter Dean Myers. Also, student will select and read a classic novel as mentioned by the main character, and read and discuss it with their peers. This week, students will learn what an inspirational essay is and begin to write one with the assistance of the textbook.

Let's have a great week of learning!
